South & Turtle Watching

Turtle Watching is a must-do thing in Boa Vista, and that's what we're going to do tonight, but before that, let's start the tour visiting the Pottery of Rabil with the "masters of clay" will see how the artisanal souvenirs are made. Taking advantage of the 4x4 vehicle for a trip to Viana Desert and sandboarding over the enchanting sand dunes. The Goat Cheese degustation is on us at a local bar in Estancia de Baixo.

Since it is on the way, Santa Monica Beach or the Village of João Galego (depending on the weather conditions) is a stop for a snack before going to see the Turtles.

At João Barrosa, Porto Ferreira and Ervatão are located Turtle Foundation where the staff will welcome you and give the opportunity to know a little bit about the turtles and to see it coming out to lay their eggs. On special occasions you can witness the hatching of many baby turtles.

North Villages & Lighthouse

It’s time to take a full-day tour to visit the North-East side of Boa Vista, starting with a peaceful and serene villages of João Galego, Fundo das Figueiras & Cabeça dos Tarafes, well known as Norte. We will get to know a little bit and appreciate the main agricultural region of the island and some of its cultivation fields. A place always surrounded by cultural particularities with friendly people, roads made of cobblestones, colorful and flowery houses.

The next point is located on top of a 150m / 490ft hill, Morro Negro Lighthouse, short walk to a paradise view our east coast. The adventure doesn't end there, after going up it's time to go down a little to Porto Ferreira, seashell beach, and why not go for a swim?

After a refreshing swim, we'll head back to Fundo das Figueiras for lunch and relax at Mansão Restaurant served with typical Cape Verdean food such as lobster, tuna, bùzios (whelks), goat...
To end with a flourish the way back will be to Route 66.

BV South

Morro de Areia is a Natural Reserve with different habitats such as beaches, row of towering dunes, cliffs and different and rare birds species (osprey “sea hawk”, red-billed tropic bird).
Varandinha is divided between sea shore and isolated natural caves that can reach 6 to 8m height in summer and on top of the rocks there are red-billed tropic bird nests.

Santa Monica Beach a 10+ km in extension isolated paradise, one of the main tourist points of not only Boa Vista but also Cape Verde, a must-visit wonder.

BV North

Chapel Nossa Senhora de Fatima was built in 1923 by David Benoliel in honor of his catolic wife. In recent years the place was in total ruin, which was restored in 2015 becoming a tourist point of Praia de David.

Quick stop at Bofareira to drink, snack and recover our energy for the next destination: Viana Desert, an extension of Saara, thin sand forming dunes from 3 to 15m high.
